today is the Royal Brunei Armend Forces’s anniversary. i.e.: HOLIDAAAAAAAAY!!! but it didn’t feel like one since i was out the whole time. *sigh* which is why i’m planning to stay in the whole day tomorrow, just watching dvds. n reading. in bed. with a lot of junk food. :p cant wait!!

fiz went back to UK this evening. i think since this is the 7th? 8th? year she’s going off we didn’t cry. at all. we’re ganno miss her desperately but thanks to technology (which i am still very kuno about, mind you)  we can keep in touch more. speaking of which, i’ve been spending more time with my ladies lately. its heartwarming to know that even after 5 years of graduation (7 for some of us) we still managed to meet up and still confide with each other eventhough we don’t see each other on a daily basis like we used to. saja reflecting.. i know my post have been boring lately, but ntah… can’t seem to think of anything interesting to post AAAAAAAND if i do, there’d be no time to do it..

i did it. i finally did it. i mentioned a while ago about a certain movie that i was cautiously excited to see. i LOVE the book (can’t stress enough on how much i love the book), explaining the excited part but as commonly known, book-turn-films movies rarely work out. hence, the cautious part. i didn’t want to ruin the book by watching the movie. but yesterday, i finally did it.

p/s: i love you has been playing for …a couple of weeks? and somehow, i had already made up my mind to not watch the movie. eventhough Gerard Butler was in it. *drool* however, after the rnB breakfast at Dynasty, gdg, me and War had nothing to do. (we had already walked around the mall.) we decided to watch Horton’s but we missed the show. and somehow, just for the heck of it. we decided to go to Empire Cinema. Ps: i love you was playing in an hour. so,to pass time, we decided to play guitar hero. for visual evidence, check out war’s blog. i sucked btw..

so, while waiting for the movie to start, me and war had this sinking feeling that the movie was gonna suck big time. i just knew  it was gonna be bad.

i was wrong.

i mentioned that while reading the book,i had to put the book down to control myself. i literally sobbed. during the movies, i cried my eyes out. the 3 pieces of tissue paper that i brought, were soaked and reduced to bundled up tears and snot. the fact that i kinda forgot most of the story line helped. i couldn’t really compare but i do know that there are a lot of differences which i think worked in the movie. like, in the book, Holly is Irish but in the movie, she’s American. so there’s this whole new part on how Holly and Gerry met. it was so.. *sappy sigh* sweet & touching & how you’d imagine you would meet your true love. *sappy-er sigh*

its more of a couples’ movie rather than a chick flick. the intimate moments that Holly and Gerry had definately made made you appreciate your partner. i know that if i were watching it with B, i’d be hugging him the whole time. (oh, note: not exactly for kids below the age of 12)

overall, i think the movie was great if not brilliant. i truly felt the love and sadness. “you are my entire story but i am just a chapter in your life..”

ho-kaaay, getting waay too sentimental for my taste. conclusion, i LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOVE  it. its been awhile since i cried that hard that had nothing to do with my issues. it felt good. again, for physical proof, go to war’s blog. go watch it, people. i think its worth it.

last weekend has been one very tiring and busy. the very opposite if what the weekend before had been.

2 weekends ago:

• woke up late. (noon-ish..?)
• stayed in bed eventhough i was already awake.
• went out to get my photos from mizi. (3pm)
• decided to go to fundonuts. it has been receiving rave reviews. so i decided to check it out. me and eyan (lil sis) arrived around 3.45pm. and there was a line! a freakin long one!! at a freakin doughnut shop!! i was about to walk away when eyan said “what else do we have to do today?” …point taken. so we decided to stay in line and bitch about the service at the same time. everything was finally done and paid for about 2 hours later. yes, TWO hours. AAAANNDDD we bought $26 worth of doughnuts. after that long wait, you can bet your @$$ we’re gonna make it worth our money and time. anyway, we bought 2 boxes of these:

 nyaman usulnya kan??? oh, and apparently, there was some drama going on. i was, apparently, oblivious to the whole thing. well, i caught snippets of it at the end but thats pretty much it. (man, i am in my own world..). so anyway, there’s this lady in front of eyan and me. all she sed was “aku mau 3 kutak.” (”i want 3 boxes”). the person in charge was a bit slow and maybe blank. then again, it was kinda hectic. but in her defense, there are two types of boxes (6’s & 12’s). and just because of that, lady customer called her “babal.” (”idiot”.) pms, much? sheesh.. dont you know, you’re ordering food from her ?? she could spit in ‘em lady!!  and as it turns out, she was waiting for one more doughnut but rather than giving it to lady customer, she gave it to us.. MWAHAHAHAHAHA.. oh, when she was finally done, she tired to walk out in a huff, all pissed off but she was called back sal she still owed then about $5. d’oh! *slaps forehead* (yan, good game.. good game.. )

• then relaxed the rest of the day.. 

last weekend:

• woke up around 8am. (mother wanted us to be early for the 11am second cousin’s wedding reception)
• 10.30am: finally on the way to the mall. wedding reception was held @ Rizqun. (which explains the slightly less grumblings)
• before going up to the ballroom, i had to help a dear uncle find parking space in the basement area. it was hilarious in a knocks-head-against-wall kinda way. i mean, i was trying to help him find the easiest (and nearest) space but ia mcm main tabak saja. hehehe.
• i actually had fun until my uncles decided to bully on me. and my ‘gitau nene karang!’ attempt fell on deaf ears.
• went home about 2pm. thot had time to freshen’ up but Surya (my bride friend for the next 2 weeks) requested us to come earlier. so dropped my mom and eyan off, then tarus pick up Bo.
• stayed at Sur’s until 6.30pm. spent most of the time daydreaming of MY wedding.. :p

then went home, picked up eyan and drove her straight to the airport. paul’s came home from KL yesterday. but his flight was kinda delayed so i stayed until ….8.30pm?

• finally around 10pm, i was home, clean and snoring

so yeaaa.. very tired.. oh, n this week pun mcm banyak events to go to.. the rest of Sur’s wedding ceremony.. my frineds are getting married lerrr… :s honestly, i’m 50-50 when it comes to marriage. i am at the stage where i can’t wait to build my life with B but also at the stage where i wanna enjoy my independence.. hmmmm.. alum jua ku beduit kan kawin wah… hheehehe. iski banar.. :p

i am soo freakin tired. i’ve been waking up at the break of dawn and hitting the pillow before midnight for the past month. i didn’t think it would be this tiring. i mean, i thought, it was something like get up, teach, rest when you’re not teaching and go home at 12.30pm. Yeah, right!! somehow, i managed to not include the fact that teachers also have to set up the papers, notes, homeworks. check the notes and homeworks. mark the notes and homeworks. lesson plans have to be prepared at least a week before. not to mention making the lesson as simple as possible so that your students can understand what the heck i’m talking about. understanding is far better than memorising.

….orite, getting out of hand. anyway, since working i rarely have time to hang out with my friends. so i was a tad iski when i met up with mizi and atul last night. Mizi wanted to try out his new studio so we had a photoshoot where i was the model. (woohooo~) my ‘next top model’ exprience was by far the most relaxed i have been since i started reliefing. it was also kinda hard to pose with a straight face with atul in the background, heckling. *roll eyes* i admit, there are times during the shoot i felt very prasan (wahey. i look goood..) but mostly i had fun. i made Mizi took a picture of me jumping. hehehe..

today is one heck of a tiring day. i went raya-ing with my UBD friends. i miss them so it was a fun day. hehehe. we decided to meet up at Bo’s place @10am. yours truly was only about 10minutes late. i think. hehe. summary of the day: we started at 10am, we visited 10 houses and i went home around 10pm. *tiiirrreeedd*

27th october:

ok, close to a week later. haha. i’m sorry. the malas bug kinda bit me. hard. bangas tia kali dah ceta ani.. lets see if i stil remember wat happened that day. hehe.

first, we decided to meet up at bo’s place at 10am. yours truly arrived 10.10am.. ish. haha. that’s almost on time!!

TUTONG!!! hehe.. macam jauh saja bunyinya.. :p ok, bimbo moment: for this roadtrip, i offered my car. i didn’t mind driving. however, arriving at sur’s amit’s place, i remembered, i left my driving license. at home. sigh. *slaps forehead* so sur had to drive. since we do have the same car. hehe.

(oh! oh! i almost forgot the highlight of the trip! i think leaving abby’s place, someone came up with this stupid game where we wenren’t allowed to utter one word of english he entire time we were in tutong.. whoever did were to be punished by the other members. i’m  proud to say that i was doing well. ME, yang payah2an kan cakap melayu. hehe. …….until we went to edy’s. *grumble* you know, i just realised, i think i came up with the game.. *peace*)

lestuuu, along’s! he is one of the sweetest guy i know. i think we actually spent longer time there than any other houses. except for jill. :p

after along’s, we decided to make our way back to muara. i think another game was played but it wasn’t as meriah as the first one. hehe. bo had to pee real bad. (who wouldn’t after 6 houses??) so we made a pit stop at empire.

 me, jill and sur in the car while atul and bo ‘did their business’.. from there. we picked up mizi and proceed to visit waznah. again, there was food. :s i swear to god, all the weight that i lost during fasting month was gained in that one day.

after jill, we went to ratna’s and lastly, goose’s place. again, food galore. surprisingly, i could still eat. hahahahahaha. no wonder my siblings call me fat. i eat a LOT!! then again, compared to the stick insects, i probably am.. huhu..

UPDATE: 12.57am -  they just left. hehe. i think because i was tired, i was mostly quiet. except for when i was commenting on wedding gowns. :p we were flicking through a bride magazine. why? to help mizi ‘mencari ilham’ so yea. it was a mundane hang out. or maybe its cause Bo isn’t here.

been busy lately. graduation is just around the corner and the khatam ceremony is tonite. (fyi, khatam ceremony =  usually held after we have completed reading the whole Quran.) we had a rehearsal (i like the malay version of rehearsal: raptai. it sound so.. funny. rap-taaai, rrrrraaaap-taaaaiiiiii… hehe.. apakan?) this morning. after that me, bo and mizi had some errands to do. after everything was done, we decided to have lunch. iatahkan during lunch, kami terkenangkan zaman ubd.

its amazing how 4 years can pass by so easily. we mostly talked about the exam times. it was the lastest exam that we went all out. how we would stay at ubd ’til the wee hours in the morning, cramming for the upcoming exams. kira case terpaksa jua wah. we HAD to study because exams was coming and we didn’t want to fail/repeat. the latest i went home was at 1am. which was nothing when compared to mizi, who went home around 4am eventhough we had exam 5 hours later.

haha.  remember waking up around 8-9, picking up bo and then drive to ubd. i woke up early because it usually take me an hour just to get the mood to study. haha. another bad thing about me is that i get distracted easily. VERY easily. i swear to god, i was concentrating on solving this equation but a cat passed by (i was outside, sal…. its either it was too noisy/cold inside. either one.. :)) and i went “oooooo… a cat…” then i forgot the fomula!! it wasn’t actually the best time for my bimboness to shine but it did!! sigh…. then there would be times where we would have lunch/dinner together then study again. i miss that.

• “ok, after we eat, i’m REALLY gonna study. i HAVE to study.” (procrastinating is common during this time..)
• “thats it. i give up. i can’t study anymore.”
• (after looking at someone who is still studying) “……crap. how do you this question?”
• “i don’t get it!!”
• “aku mental….”
• “eh?? apakan….?” (after realising we’re using the wrong formula.)
• “rehat ku kajap…”

hehe.. those are just a few of the normal things you would hear when we would study together. theres always a pattern: we arrive, take our books/notes out, talk to each other and would start to study an hour later. usually an hour after studying, we’d go for a 2-3 hour lunch. go back to uni. another half hour to start studying. its usually in the afternoon where we’d be really quiet and study with full concentration. when night comes, we’d started to get tired but didn’t wnat to stop ’cause we were on a roll. but when we do take a break, its usually another 2-3 hours. trying to start studying at night again was hard. i mean, you’ve been studying for most of the afternoon. capturing the mood again is just so tiring. so, usually it takes another 2 hours to start studying again. so it’ll be around 8/9pm where we’ll be quietly studying and revising in our own corners. i’m usually done by 10-11pm. i have curfew. hahaha. inda bisai jua wah. bini2 balik akhir2. :p there was a time when the tension and stress level was soo high that we decided to go to the beach before an exam. haha.

 sigh. those were the days. i don’t miss the studying, cramming and panicked feeling, but i do miss the fun and hanging out in between.

About a year ago, during the fasting month of Ramadhan, me and my group of friends decided to take a walk between classes. we had about 5 hours of lectures back to back and we were fasting so maybe a lil bit of fresh air might wake us (ok, me. wake ME) up. on our way back, we saw a couple of ‘orang putihs‘ (caucasians). we were whispering within each other, wondering who they were as they were new faces and we pretty much recognise everyone in our faculty.

the purty lady came up to our group and asked where the canteen was. we told her where it was but there was a big chance the canteen was closed as it was Ramadhan. that lady was Rachael Robeson. She and her husband, Thomas Robeson, were on a holiday. their friend, David Thompson, acted as their tour guide. Rachael and Thomas were very curious about Brunei’s culture and custom. i did my best in answering thier questions. although i am proud to be a Bruneian, it doesn’t necessarily mean  i know everything about Brunei.

anyways, we ended talking to them for about an hour, After finding out that they were from Texas, we were pretty much just as curious about them. honest to God, they are one of the nicest people i’ve ever met. they are so down to earth and very content with what they have. i had so much fun showing them Brunei. ….well, i showed them around the Mall.

 so anyway, last week Thomas & David were back with their group of friends: Shelley (who are friends with Rachael since they were 12), Lacey, Jeff and Andi (David’s daughter). i met up with them on wednesday (1st august). we had dinner at capers. i did not have a good start. first, i couldn’t find any parking space close to the place. second, the minute i parked, stray dogs decided to come and sniff my car!! (and no, it does not say anything about me OR my car!) i tried calling atul but she didn’t pick up. at this point, tears were forming and i was silently (but vehemently) cursing my luck. i finally managed to get out about 10 minutes later. Boon had to come out and get me. eveything was better afterwards. i even had fun. i talked mostly to Shelley,David and Andi as they were the ones sitting closest to me. we talked about pretty much everythng under the sun. from pacars (henna) to jawi. hehe. i even managed to talk about B. :p

i can see why Rachael has been fiends with Shelley for a long time. She is equallly nice, smart and not to mention, beautiful. she’s the kind of girls who has a positive outlook on everything. she (like me ;p) believes that everything happens for a reason. last sunday, we decided to mee again at tha Mall. this time i brought B along. unsurprisingly, the boys and girls got seperated. while we were shopping (i am happy i’m a girl :D)the boys were hanging out at Dome (a cafe).

for dinner,we ate at escapade, a sushi restaurant. we had a blast! never in my life have i seen a table filled with uncooked food. hehehe. oh and on the rare occasion that Thomas does read my blog,: Thomas, i am proud of you! you ate sushi for the first time! and i witnessed it! a historical moment..

they went home next day. unfortunately, since i already made plans, i didn’t get to see them off i did, however, managed to give them a last minute farewell msg. hehehe. meeting and hanging out with them was definitely one of the highlights of my week. its been a while since i did some much needed retail therapy.

sigh…. *ponders*

i’m lucky, i know that. i mean what are the chances of becoming close friends with strangers who has no connection to you?
